The City in Europe: Will it prosper if Britain leaves the EU?

The Evening Standard, in partnership with the City of London Corporation, GVA and the Centre for London, will be holding a debate on 'The City in Europe'. This free public event will be chaired by the BBC's Jon Sopel, with an introduction from the Chairman of Policy and the Lord Mayor of London. Speaking in favour of staying in the EU are Business Secretary Vince Cable, economist Vicky Pryce and captain of industry Sir Martin Sorrell, chief executive of the world’s biggest marketing group WPP. Those who think the City could prosper outside the EU include entrepreneur Luke Johnson, Tory back-bencher Jesse Norman and German-born Labour MP Gisela Stuart. 6.30pm - 8:00pm, Monday 9 September
